Beauty Bag - Bag of Love March/April Edition

Hi guys, again another super late post! 

So this time I'm gonna share something else, 
instead of a beauty box, this time around it's a Beauty Bag!

Yeah you heard it right, 
Bag of Love sends out useful beauty bags that 
you can use for storing your cosmetics and use it as a daily make-up bag. 
Sounds very convenient to me >:)

I bought the March/April bag and this time, the founder of Bag of Love, Mimi, sent us an adorable light blue bag that can be used to keep books! The theme was even "Stay Beautiful and Read On"! How nice is it that it reminds us while taking care of our outer beauty, we shouldn't forget about our inner beauty as well! :D
And it reminds me to start buying some novels to read .. 
instead of facing my medical books everyday :/ ughh

So what is it all about?
Bag of Love is a beauty bag with 5 deluxe sample-sized beauty products - ranging from hair care to skincare, body care, make up, nails and fragrances - delivered to your doorstep so you get to sample the products before buying it. Previously they sent bags monthly, however since March they will send bags bi-monthly. Which means I bought mine on March, but it's the March/April bag :)

According to their website, 
they carry many brands  from mass to luxury and local to international -  
and you won’t know what items will be in the bags until you get it, 
so prepare yourself to be surprised! 

Instead of packing the items in a box, they are packed in a pretty cosmetic bag with different designs every month, which is really cute, and a girl can never have enough cosmetic bags! :P

There's another product that wasn't in this beauty bag, its either I will received this Philosophy product or a Nuxe Nirvanesque Cream (sample). I'm glad I received the Philosopy one since I've been dying to try out its products! I have absolutely no idea about Nuxe .. Maybe will try them in the future :D

So that's it!

March/April Bag of Love included a total of 8 products and samples. 
There were 3 full sized products! Thumbs up for that! I love full-sized products in beauty boxes/bags. Feel like I'm getting all my money back already :P
I bought this beauty bag after putting in some consideration about what products are included in this bag. I saw teasers of this March/April bag in their Facebook page, and decided to buy it since I'm gonna use or try out almost every single item in the bag :D
I was wanting to buy a hair conditioner and something for my boy before this, 
then I saw this bag included a full-sized hair conditioner! 
Also a facial mist for men hoho
And I was like, "This bag came at the right time! Mwahahahaaaa"

Immediately after the teaser that basically revealed all the stuff in the beauty bag, 
I ordered one and to be honest, 
I'm very satisfied for just paying RM39.90 for a beauty bag for 8 products!
My beauty stash just goes on and on .. gonna be higher than my books combined @_@

Be sure to pay attention on their Facebook page for special bags that pop out on special events! During the beginning of this month they offered a "Mummy Bag", which was specially made for those who wants to give their mum a special gift on Mothers' Day :D
I personally thinks that they are super considerate (not to mention that the contents of the bag was like OMGGG - I mean, they even included a hairdryer! :O) But the prices of the special bags will be different as well. Higher price for more big stufff :3

Beauty Box - The Lilac Box 7

Now lets move on to another beauty box! 
I received my Lilac Box 7 last week (finally! not an super overdue post :D) and 
I'm really excited about this because this is the first beauty box that I don't know what I will receive! 
They don't even give teasers :( 

but I bought it anyway. And again, it's another impulse buying. *clears throat*

The Lilac Box is a beauty box whereby you will receive a box filled with beauty, grooming and lifestyle samples from both up-and-coming and premium brands! 

Each delivery will include a mix of products across different categories. Their samples come in various sizes, but rest assured that they try to ensure the quantity is more than enough to allow you to figure out if they're right for you. (Let's see if they really live up to the claim :P) 

The products are kept in secret until you receive them, so it will be like a TOTAL SURPRISE!! Hehe. But if you're still curious, you can check the list of their brand partners to get a hint :)

After creating an account in their website, you will need to fill out a beauty questionnaire for your beauty profile. Why? It's simply because they will customise the boxes! According to them , some samples are sent to everyone and those products were chosen carefully to ensure that they'll work for a wide range of styles, skin types and colourings. Others will be chosen specifically for your beauty and grooming needs, that's why filling out your beauty profile is that important! It lets them know about your style and you will be getting what you need! They are also committed to never sending their customers the same sample twice!

After opening the package : 
It comes nicely packed in a sturdy black box with a little yellow ribbon~

It was nicely wrapped with flower paper and some .. strings (??) fillers for decoration haha 

When I first opened it, I was greeted with a very strong scent! I even thought something spilled out or what, turns out it was the perfume (read on :D) I'm so excited for this!!

WOW! These were what they sent me. I was first stunned by the size of the L'oreal product kyaaaaaa! Are they full sized?? 

I'm 100% thought that some of them are not samples .. how can a sample be this big?

I'm such a stingy person .. get more for less is always the best! :3

So that basically sums up all the products I got from Lilac Box 7! 
Overall I'm super satisfied and I really think that they live up to the claim! I mean, I received samples that even look like full sizes! (L'oreal). I can say that I'm a total Lilac Box fan now! *fangirl mode on* *adrenalinerushhhh*
I'm curious to try out all the products they sent me and totally looking forward to their next box! This is soooo exciting!! One happy customer here :D


A box costs RM49.90 each (shipping included) and it is shipped in Peninsular Malaysia by courier. They currently do not ship internationally. 
Sometimes they will have special edition boxes, be sure to keep an eye of them!

They also have Lilac Points in which they are loyalty points you earn on your account. You can use them to redeem for free boxes! How good is THAT? 
Every "standard-series" box costs 100 Lilac Points and so does the Special edition boxes that are sold for less than their standard boxes. However, special edition boxes that cost more than their standard box cannot be redeemed with Lilac Points. You get Lilac Points by submitting reviews about their products~
They have not yet provided a subscription service, so it's on a box-to-box basis.

My very first Beauty Box!

Today I'm gonna share something about my very FIRST BEAUTY BOX! Yes I've join into the beauty box army recently as I accidentally saw it while doing my "research" on skincare. Turns out it has already been popular in overseas for a long time, and Malaysia has also a few of their own beauty boxes! (Bag Of Love, The Lilac Box, Mivva etc)

Now the one I've bought is from Vanity Trove! At first I bought this is because it's customizable, which means that you can pick your own desired products and it will be delivered right to your doorstep! Isn't it tempting? :DD (Since other beauty boxes are not customisable, I was afraid of spending money and getting something I don't need)

I bought this on March actually, so this is one super overdue post! Sorry :/

(yes my obsession has been THAT long and my blog started THIS LATE =_=) 

I was impressed by the reviews about Vanity Trove and about their box design, 

it is designed to function like a mini drawer! You can store your whatever stuff inside and keep your room clean (I really need that :X)

One thing really like about the packaging is that it was wrapped tightly in clear plastic. Feels like you just bought a super new product and wanted to tear off everything outside!! *me tearing it off violently*

Maybe because this is my first beauty box, I was expecting something bigger, something more .. big (maybe I was hoping to get a full sized product that looked like full size :P And I did chose one but it came to my hands almost like a sample sized product). 

I chose the Skinz Eye Brightening Essence since I was running out of eye cream and saw that it was full-sized! I guess that I missed that it was only 30 mL. 

I'm still a newbie. :( 30mL is really mini sized.

I know that while choosing them they stated the size and everything, whether if its a sample or not, but I was hoping to get something bigger. I don't know, this is so gonna be a lesson for me to not be greedy .. but when my obsession comes there is no room for logical thinking >_<

Another thing I learnt about this beauty box is that what I get were mostly samples (it's okay) but they were manufactured like, 2 years ago? It was stated 2012 on some products and on some, there weren't even any dates or whatsoever on them. Maybe it's because they are samples. (Yeah let's save some printing toner :/)

I wished they let me know beforehand about the manufacturing/expiry date of these items, because I thought that I was able to keep them for a long time. 

Turns out that they might expire this year (I mean, it's already 2014!) 

and I will be forced to use them ASAP >:) good thing? bad thing?

My first ever SPLURGE on Laneige!

Hi everyone~ Today I would like to share with you my very first splurge experience on skincare products :D this is an overdue post though, sorry guys hehe

So after trying out the Laneige 2-Tone-Up Duo Kit, it didn't breakout on me. And I was sold by other beauty blogs that claimed that it's effectiveness in brightening up the skin. 

Finally! I decided to buy the White Plus Renew range by Laneige.

Coincidentally, while I was scrolling through Facebook, I saw them promoting their White Plus Renew range and was going to do a promotion event at Queensbay Mall. During that day, I'm pretty sure I'm the first to arrive and the first to sit down and talk a whole lot, and the very first customer on that very first day of the event! That's a lot of firsts. Haha. 

I'm that enthusiastic when it comes to my obsession >:) 

way more enthusiastic than reading my anatomy textbooks.

The girl at the counter was very helpful and explained about the different types of products that I can use. She was super shocked when I told her I didn't use any sunblock at all, in fact, I didn't use anything except for toner. Turns out that the UV rays in the sun will cause dark spots on my skin, and I was too stupid to know that after living for 21 years. =_=

In total, I spent RM 505 for four products, 

Laneige White Plus Renew Original Essence, 

White Plus Renew Skin Refiner, Laneige BB Cushion, 

and their Sun Block Aqua SPF 35 PA++. 

There were other gift sets during the promotion and they would actually more worth it for those who wanted to have a first try on Laneige products, since their gift sets weren't all in full sizes especially for the White Plus Renew range. 

There was only ONE gift set with the full-sized Original Essence with a few other little trial bottles for the others like Skin Refiner, Emulsion, Original Cream, and so on. 

The others were like Moisture care with the total hit "Water Sleeping Pack" and etc.

I spent that much because I wanted to buy more than RM 480 .. 

So that I can get more free gifts nyahahahaha!! 

Apparently if you buy more than RM 350 there will be 7 free gifts (a trial kit with 5 pcs item + 2 pcs sleeping mask etc) with a cute floral cosmetic bag, but if you buy more than RM 480, you can get another 2 pcs item and a white handbag! 

(I'm not really fond of handbags made of leather, 

when I saw it in real I was thinking of giving it to my mum instead :P)

So, according to them, Laneige's whitening care has become more perfect with the new functions like "3-color care + 2 tones up". You can see that they are able to reduce the tone of yellowish, reddish or even blackish skins up to 2 tones! 

Now, onto the products I've bought :

The girl at the counter was very kind to give me some samples since I said I'd never tried cleansing oil before. She told me that cleansing oil is needed whenever you apply sunblock, I never knew that! I thought a simple cleanser would be enough. She also gave me the 2 Water Bank Eye Gel Cream and 2 Water Sleeping Pack samples. She told me that the Water Sleeping Pack was the most popular product by Laneige 
(and she was shocked again that I don't even know what 
Laneige's hit product is =_= I'm so noob)

I also became a Laneige member and they gave me a white cool looking card 
with "Snow Water" written on top of it. Not only that, there were vouchers since I was a new member, and I will be able to use it after 1 week of activating it!

my skincare obsession!
